Torsion Springs

Garage Door Broken Torsion Spring

Garage door torsion springs counterbalance the weight of your over head door. We recommend high cycle torsion springs vs. standard 10,000 cycles for increased lifespan.

Torsion springs are available in many lengths, wire sizes and diameters. Always measure your existing torsion springs before ordering.

Measurements Needed

Length – Measure the length of the coils only (not the cones). Common lengths are 20″ to 50″

Inside Diameter – Measure the width of the inside (hollow) area of your existing springs. Common IDs include 1.75″ , 2″ , 2.25″  2 5/8″, 3 3/4, 6″

Wire Size – Measure the thickness of the coils on your torsion spring. If you don’t have a calipers, find the length of 10 coils. For example, 10 coils = 2 1/4 inches = .225 wire size

Always measure each spring individually since some doors have mismatched springs installed.
