The thickness of this hinge is 11 gauge and is designed for all commercial garage doors and some heavy residential overhead doors.

The width of this hinge is 3″ so the interior stiles should be at least 3″ wide. The length of the hinge is 7 1/4″ and comes with pre-drilled pilot holes. Most of the time these holes will not line up with your existing door stile holes. You will need to start new holes or increase the diameter of the fasteners you use.

Hinge #8 refers to the placement of the hinge on the door. Number eight hinges are installed between the eighth and nineth door sections. Lower number hinges are installed closer to the bottom of the door. Higher numbered hinges are installed toward the top of the door.
